Plans to puncture ANC party leader Hon. Musalia Mudavadi’els presidential bid in 2022 by external forces have been scuttled by the successful nomination of Hon. Peter Oscar Nabulindo as the ANC candidate in the Matungu by-election.
Speaking in Matungu today as he unveiled Hon. Nabulindo to the electorates, Hon. Musalia Mudavadi said ‘external forces’ attempted to poach the ANC candidate but failed, a move that would have jeopardized Mudavadi’s popularity thus denting his presidential ambition.
He called on the electorates to vote in Nabulindo as a show of Luhya unity since the Ford Kenya party leader Hon. Moses Wetangula has also thrown his support behind the ANC candidate in Matungu, agesture that ANC led by Mudavadi intends to reciprocate in Kabuchai constituency by-election by supporting the Ford Kenya candidate.

Kakamega county gubernatorial hopeful and Lugari constituency MP Hon Ayub Savula reiterated that the Matungu by-election will be a litmus test for Musalia Mudavadi’s presidential bid and must be recaptured by ANC at all cost.
