Blow to Democracy Through Political Zoning

The culture of politically zoning some regions and blocking other leaders from accessing the area or attending pre-arranged meetings is outdated, backward and archaic! It is also unconstitutional, unlawful and undemocratic!

I have noted the sad return of this uncultured and archaic malpractice, since the tangatanga started their ” rebellion.: Here I will cute some few instances of their misbehavior:

  1. The disruption of Maina Kamanda church meetings in Naivasha, Laikipia, Nyandarua and Murang’a.
  2. The disruption of BBI rallies in Mombasa, Kitui and Meru.
  3. The demonstrations in Uasin gishu against the BBI pre- lanned validation meeting
  4. The threat by the Nandi County governor that he shall not allow the collection of BBI signatures in “his” county.

Any leader who promotes such kind of behavior is not worth ascending to the presidency!

Let us not give such kind of retrogressive leaders a chance by refusing to vote for them!

Ruto Must Exit Government to Popularise Wheelbarrow Party

President Kenyatta and DP Ruto at a past function
A Jubilee Party insider Kanini Kega has challenged Deputy President William Ruto to exit government and focus on popularising the newly rebranded United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Kieni MP Kanini Kega became the first politician allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta to respond to the revamping of UDA by the DP’s allies, including the use of the wheelbarrow as the official symbol.

Speaking in his Nyeri, Kega termed it untenable for the DP to continue enjoying the perks of the office granted under the Jubilee Party yet still promoting the activities of another party through proxy.

DP Ruto with Mr. Muthama at a past event the MP called on Ruto to tender his resignation so as to ignite his 2022 campaign engine.

Drawing from the Christian analogy, Kanini voiced that the DP should profess one doctrine, saying that he was posing as a Pentecostal in the morning and a Catholic in the afternoon.

The Chairman of the powerful National Assembly’s Finance and Budget Committee called on the Registrar of Political parties to intervene as one cannot belong to two parties legally.

The wheelbarrow-branded party makes clear the cracks within the Jubilee camp, with a number of Ruto’s associates posting the party symbols on their social media pages.

The deputy president’s faction was blocked from the Jubilee Pangani headquarters with the Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju hosting a press conference to notify the public of the move earlier this year.

The Ruto-team later leased offices ain Nairobi’s Kilimani which they branded as Jubilee Asili Centre. They have reportedly been evicted by the landlord.

UDA, previously identified as the Party for Development and Reform (PDR), uses the same colors that were used by the Ruto-led United Republican Party (URP) which merged with other parties to form the Jubilee Party.

PDR, which is largely associated with the pastoralist communities, previously used the bull as its political symbol.

Incidentally, UDA was founded in 2012 by the current Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju – initially as the Party of Action (POA). It changed hands and rebranded to PDR.

KITUI SECURITY TEAM RANKS AMONG THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY

Despite the obvious challenges encountered by our men in blue, they are doing exemplary job in maintaining law and order.

Based on a rigorous analysis conducted by the investigative arm of Flash Online, Kitui security officers have done a commendable job especially during this festive season.

The officers have sacrificed their time and safety to make sure every Kitui resident is safe. There have been almost nil reports made against the security department in Kitui.

In a related incident, Police Boss Hilary Mutyambai has said that the men in uniform needs to be respected by the publics as they perform their duties within the confines of the law.

Commenting on the gone viral video of a motorist who was beaten by police officers in Nakuru, he said that the motorist was on the wrong. He observed that in cases where a citizen feels displeasure, he or she should channel complaints in the right manner.

Our police department have been overwhelmed with maintaining law and order during the December Holidays. This has partly been brought by the safety measures that need to be observed during this pandemic. The police department urges the publics to observe the various security guidelines put in place.

Flash Online Media Team wishes the security department of Kitui County and the rest of the Nation Happy Holidays and thank them for their service to motherland.

FORMER PRIME MINISTER RAILA ODINGA, COTU BOSS FRANCIS ATWOLI BIGGEST REGRET

Earlier today in Bumula during the burial of the late father to the area MP Hon Mwambu, Luhyas leaders have once again paraded themselves against each other to please the DP Ruto.

Wamunyinyi literary pleading with Ruto to recognise him and start consulting with him on matters western leadership is a big blow to the handshake led team pushing to popularise BBI in the region.

This are the same people entrusted by the so called deep state to sell BBI in western Kenya and also awarded special house leadership to support the state.

Just the other day Bungoma Governor Wangamati was championing for DP Ruto’s presidency in Mt Elgon and promised residents how he will support Ruto’s presidency admitting to be Ruto’s political student.

Tongaren MP Dr Eseli Simiyu has become a man who have decided to remain adamantly silent as his colleagues led by Wamunyinyi and Wangamati continues to popularise DP Ruto’s agenda in the region.

GOVERNOR OPARANYA: DELAYS TO DISBURSE FUNDS POSE A THREAT TO DEVOLUTION

The Council of Governors Chairman H.E Dr Wycliffe Oparanya has cautioned that delays by National Treasury to release funds for Counties will ‘kill’ devolution in the Country.

He said development projects and other operations at the Counties have been crippled due to lack of money.

“For the last three months we have not received any money. We cannot offer any services to our people because we don’t have funds for development and other expenses,” said Governor Oparanya.

Speaking at Nakhwana Primary School in Bungoma during the funeral service of Mzee Maurice Mabongah father to Bumula MP Hon Mwambu Mabongah, the Governor said Counties are unable to pay contractors and other suppliers who offered services to the devolved units.

“Devolution was started to bring development closer to mwananchi but with no funds, there is nothing we can do. I ask you the Deputy President to ensure we get funds on time,” Dr Oparanya told DP Dr William Ruto who attended the service.

The Kakamega Governor revealed plans by the National Government to establish a cancer center in Western to offer treatment for the disease which he said has killed many people in the region.

He said as four Governors from the region (Kakamega, Bungoma, Vihiga and Busia) engaged the National Government to start the first cancer center in the region.

“Establishing a cancer center in Western will reduce the cost of seeking cancer treatment because our people travel to Eldoret or Nairobi to seek cancer services,” he said.

He added; “We are still consulting to see where the center will be established. It will be a sigh of relief to our people,” he said.

Dr Oparanya also asked the National Government to implement the sugar taskforce report targeting to revive ailing sugar factories.

“I urge the National Government to implement the report before 2022. Our factories have collapsed leaving our people jobless which has negatively affected our economy,” he said.

Senate Speaker Hon Ken Lusaka several MPs, MCAs and other leaders attended the service.

NABULINDO, BEST BET FOR MATUNGU- MUDAVADI

Plans to puncture ANC party leader Hon. Musalia Mudavadi’els presidential bid in 2022 by external forces have been scuttled by the successful nomination of Hon. Peter Oscar Nabulindo as the ANC candidate in the Matungu by-election.

Speaking in Matungu today as he unveiled Hon. Nabulindo to the electorates, Hon. Musalia Mudavadi said ‘external forces’ attempted to poach the ANC candidate but failed, a move that would have jeopardized Mudavadi’s popularity thus denting his presidential ambition.

He called on the electorates to vote in Nabulindo as a show of Luhya unity since the Ford Kenya party leader Hon. Moses Wetangula has also thrown his support behind the ANC candidate in Matungu, agesture that ANC led by Mudavadi intends to reciprocate in Kabuchai constituency by-election by supporting the Ford Kenya candidate.

Kakamega county gubernatorial hopeful and Lugari constituency MP Hon Ayub Savula reiterated that the Matungu by-election will be a litmus test for Musalia Mudavadi’s presidential bid and must be recaptured by ANC at all cost.

KMPDU HAS CALLED OFF THEIR STRIKE

The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has now called off their strike following successful engagements with the government through the Health and Labour ministries.

KMPDU Secretary General Dr. Chibanzi Mwachonda made the announcement during a press address on Thursday flanked by Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe and his Labour counterpart Simon Chelugui.

“Today being December 24, I know that we’re all now gearing up for the festive season, as Kenyan doctors we will provide services for you in the facilities and we continue to engage. On that note, I would like to declare that the strike by KMPDU has now been called off,” said Dr. Mwachonda.

The KMPDU boss also stated that they had agreed that the Treasury would fast track funding for the doctors, further that all the union members will be provided with adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).

Dr. Mwachonda added that no member who participated in the industrial action will be victimised, with the Labour ministry promising to mediate disputes between doctors and a few county governments.

“They will take it upon themselves to intervene, we have outstanding counties that have taken a tangent is not healthy, not just for the doctors but even for the public; Mombasa is one of them, Migori and Nyamira are others. There shall be efforts to mediate and restore normalcy and provision of services,” he stated.

Hon.Peter Kenneth at crossroads over lack of endorsement in the upcoming Nairobi By-elections.

Windsor Golf Club and Restaurant has been the center and theater of overnight meetings over the February Nairobi By-elections as Peter Kenneth backers pushes for his candidacy in Nairobi.

Peter Kenneth, who contested for Jubilee Nominations in 2017 and was floored by Sonko, though he accused Ruto for sabotaging his bid for the Gubernatorial seat. Now that Ruto is not having any control of Jubilee Party, his backers are convincing him to contest as nominations will be free and fair, which Kenneth, according to insiders says is very scared of any loss because it will show the world how unpopular he is.

Sources within the Windsor meeting says that Peter Kenneth wants Jubilee and ODM to front him as the preferred candidate because he enjoys both Uhuru and Raila friendship ties for many years. Also, if Jubilee and ODM fronts candidates, he will loose the By-elections irregardless of him vying as an independent candidate.

Jubilee Party hasn’t received any application from Peter Kenneth for membership as he had resigned as a member to vie as an independent candidate in 2017. The deadline for candidates to submit nomination papers are set for monday, 28th Dec 2020. There is unconfirmed rumours that Tangatanga’s Margaret Wanjiru and Dennis Waweri camps that, Vice Chair David Murathe wants to have PK as the only party candidate. If true, this will lead to implosion within the party ranks and file.

Peter Kenneth’s political ambitions have been overly championed by his home brokers who have gone silent as they fear a political backlash if Peter Kenneth attempts to vie and lose because he is unknown to many as he was last elected 15 years ago.

Political pundits says Peter Kenneth wants to leverage on the handshake’s goodwill to catapult him to the next level of his political life which is highly unlikely considering Raila Odinga’s ODM Party has called for Party nominations for the Nairobi Gubernatorial. It is left to be seen how the situation will unfold from next week.
